Business Check | TAKTOS

Business First.
AI Only If It Belongs.

Most businesses do not need more tools. They need a clear view of how work runs today.

The Business Check is a paid advisory diagnostic. It exists to answer one question before anything else happens.

TAKTOS comes from the Greek word taktos, meaning ordered in proper sequence. If the basics are not sound, we stop. If they are, we decide what comes next.

Is your business in a condition where AI belongs at all?
Chuck Rayman — TAKTOS Business Check

What the Business Check examines

We examine how your business operates today — not how it is supposed to operate.

During the Business Check, we review:

  • Revenue flow and constraints
  • Customer demand and friction points
  • Core workflows from start to finish
  • Decisions and approval paths
  • Handoffs between people and systems
  • Time loss, rework, and errors
  • Failure points and breakdowns

This work focuses on reality

Not intent. Not tools. Not plans.

We diagnose how work happens today, not how documentation says it should happen.

We look for the specific places where operations drift from what leadership believes is happening.

  • Where decisions stall or bounce between people
  • Where handoffs break and rework begins
  • Where time disappears into status, searching, and correction
  • Where performance depends on one person holding the system in their head

The Business Check shows the gap between what you think is running and what is running.

Resume Writing Practice — 30+ Years in Business

The owner came in wanting an AI lead generation tool. Lead volume was the stated problem.

The Business Check found something more basic. There was no CRM, no organized records of past clients, and no system for tracking where new business was coming from. The practice had operated for over three decades without a documented client base.

An AI tool would not have solved the lead problem. It would have added cost and complexity to a workflow with no foundation under it.

Recommendation: organize the client database first. Tool evaluation paused. Engagement ongoing

Pre-Launch Startup — Building Before the Model Existed

The owner came in ready to purchase domains, email accounts, and software. The business had not yet defined how it would operate.

Purchasing had already started. An .org domain had been acquired, which creates a credibility problem for a for-profit education business. Several additional tool purchases were queued and ready to proceed.

The Business Check identified the sequencing problem before the spending continued. All tool and platform purchases were paused.

Recommendation: stop purchasing. Define the operating model first. Then decide what infrastructure it needs. Engagement ongoing
